What I do
I'm a freelance travel journalist and editor who specialises in hiking, cycling, the outdoors, conservation and sustainable travel. In August 2022, I was nominated for the 'Young Writer of the Year' and 'Sustainability Feature of the Year' awards at the 2022 Travel Media Awards. I also do TV and radio work, including news appearances for travel-related stories, and as a judge on the BBC Scotland show 'Scotland's Greatest Escapes'.
I write for a variety of national and regional newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, BBC, Metro, Vice, The Scotsman, DK Guidebooks and more. Outside of journalism, I'm also a creative writer and spoken word poet, and regularly perform live and host events.

News, Features & Travel Writer
I specialise in writing about sustainable travel, and how it can uplift local communities. I have a particular enthusiasm for stories which involve hiking, cycling, kayaking or Scotland, and I'm also particularly passionate about conservation.

SEO & Social Media Expert
I gained an in-depth knowledge of SEO best practises during my four years as the Associate Editor of Mpora, the largest action sport website in Europe. I have since worked extensively on SEO as a freelancer in the travel industry, and always keep up to date.

Creative Writing & Presenting
As well as my journalism, I'm also a spoken word poet and event host - whether that's in the spaces of travel or the arts. I have performed plays and spoken word shows at the 2017 and 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, and performed at various UK arts festivals.
